AFRICAN THREADING

Have you ever been curious as to how the Africans grew their hair? What protective style do they keep their hair in? Or is the myth of African Threading growing the hair really true? Well the answer to that is “YES”

The African Threading, a native of the Africans. It is a traditional hairstyling where thread is used to wrap hair in sections to help stretch the hair and promote hair growth.

ADVATAGES OF AFRICAN THREADING

1)    LESS MANIPULATION

The African Threading is an easy hairstyle, it is also easy to take down, hence reducing breakage and minimizing manipulation. Since you are simply just pulling the thread off your hair, it slides out easily which unlike braids or twists, you don’t need your hands in your hair trying to untangle any knots.

2)    IT LEAVES YOUR HAIR STRETCHED

When you take down the threading from your hair, especially for people for people with natural or curly hair, you notice your hair has the blow dried look with no hear applied.

3)    ENHANCES HAIR GROWTH

One of the good things about this hairstyle is that it enhances hair growth, due to the nature of this hairstyle it allows new growth.

Now this is a hairstyle that I have personally tried out and tested, also which I have experienced all the benefits to this hairstyle.

HOW TO MAKE THE AFRICAN THREADING HAIRSTYLE

·        First make sure your hair is cleanly washed and detangled (not necessarily blow dried)

·        Take a small section depending on how thick or how thin you want the hair to be

·        Brush out that section properly to remove any tangle or knots

·        Securely fasten one end of the thread to the roots of the sectioned hair

·        Begin to wrap the thread around the hair, working your way down to the tip of the hair.

·        As you reach the tip of your hair, secure the thread by tying another knot.

Repeat this process for each section of your hair till all your hair is threaded, then you can either leave the thread as it is or style it into different patterns.

To remove this threading, simply untie the knots and carefully unwrap them from your hair or slightly tug on the thread to loosen.

HOW LONG DOES AFRICAN THREADING LAST

Typical African threading can last 2-3 weeks depending on how the hair is made, styled and maintained.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT STYLES OF AFRICAN THREADING

There is more than one way to style the African Threading, you can create different patterns on the threading to form a style, patterns such as straight lines, zigzags, crisscross and many more. You can be creative and produce different styles.

Although I have tried out this hairstyle, the results is different for each individual hair type. So let me know in the comment section if you’ve tried this hair style and how it worked for you.
